This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Bagger 288. My nomination for the most Jalop vehicle ever created, and I’m sure a few of you will agree.
Look at the bottom. Those are tracks! IT MOVES!
So, some statistics:
-The Bagger 288 and it’s siblings (281, 285, 287, 293), hold the record for the world’s largest land vehicles.
-It does the job of removing dirt and sand above a target mining site.
-It can excavate 240,000 m^3 of soil daily, or nearly 100 Olympic swimming pools!
-Weighing 13,500 tons in 1978, the Bagger did model bloat before it was cool.
-Using 16.56 megawatts of external electricity, it has a blistering top speed of 0.3 mph, and it’s mpg is far less.
-In February 2001, it traveled 14 miles across Germany, partly using the Autobahn. 14 miles at 0.3 mph would take at least 140 hours straight, not including terrain difficulties or the pilot resting. Factor those in and it would be more like an entire week. Road trip of a lifetime right there.
-Each saw on the end is 71 feet in diameter, or about the height of a 6 story house.
This is the face of a man with the worlds finest occupation.

Now that I’m at my grandparents’ house, I can watch the video (weird huh)
...And I need to collect a few brain cells back.
